Thomas Cook India Group, a Fairfax Company, has recently signed an agreement to acquire Kuoni’s global network of Destination Management Specialists, which include the Dubai-based Gulf Dunes and Desert Adventures.
“This is indeed a welcome development as it will serve to further contribute to the overall business growth momentum that Desert Adventures and Gulf Dunes have experienced in the 4th quarter of 2016 and the 1st quarter of 2017,” Gulf Dunes CEO Peter Payet said in an official statement.
“With a smooth transition of ownership expected to take place in the coming days and weeks, it will be business as usual and that all existing contracts, agreements and arrangements will not change, continue to be in effect and in force,” Peter also said.
Apart from Gulf Dunes and Desert Adventures, Thomas Cook’s acquisition included Asian Trails, Private Safaris (East & South), Allied TPro, as well as Australian Tours Management.
“In keeping with the Fairfax strategic intent of fair and friendly acquisitions, our agreement to acquire Kuoni’s global network of Destination Management Specialists in 17 countries, provides us a significant expanded global footprint with enhanced presence in The Americas, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Australia- all favoured destinations for tourists and business travellers worldwide,” said MadhavanMenon, Chairman & Managing Director, Thomas Cook India Group
