Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is now officially part of the AccorHotels family, according to a joint announcement we have received from both brands.
A global firm with Swiss roots and a restaurant and hospitality heritage that dates back to the 1940s, Mövenpick is a highly reputable hotel brand, uniquely positioned to complement AccorHotels’ portfolio. Its European-Swiss heritage and the brand’s combination of modernity and authenticity are an ideal fit with AccorHotels.
Mövenpick brings an impressive portfolio of addresses located in city centers and resort destinations in key strategic markets around the world, such as Mövenpick Resort & Spa Dead Sea, Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran Bali, Mövenpick Hotel Mansour Eddahbi Marrakech and the popular Mövenpick Amsterdam City.
Comprised of 84 properties with over 20,000 rooms and 42 hotels in the pipeline by 2021 the network reinforces AccorHotels’ footprint in Europe and Asia, and accelerates growth in Africa and notably the Middle East, where Mövenpick enjoys significant brand awareness.
Currently, the hotel brand has a total of 27 hotels in the Middle East. Five of them are in the United Arab Emirates with three more to open in Dubai next year.
Next in the pipeline would be the blueprints for more hotels in other emirates. A city centre hotel directly linked to a mall in Umm Al Quwain is under discussion while a resort in Ras Al Khaimah is in the works, set to open in 2021, a local media report said.
