There’s always something new and exciting to do in the United Arab Emirates, with leisure and entertainment being among the destination’s top priorities. Simply put, tourism developments are growing non-stop.
In 2018, more new landmarks and attractions are opening their doors to the public, and we are excited for all of them.
Here are our Big Three:
CLYMB Abu Dhabi
Skydiving is exciting, that’s for sure. We’ve all imagined flying above the clouds at least once in our lives, haven’t we? But the fear, anxiety and risk that go with skydiving are not for everyone.
So what if you can experience the same feeling of falling and floating in the air in the safety of a chamber? With CLYMB Abu Dhabi, you can.
CLYMB Abu Dhabi is set to be the world’s widest flight chamber and the tallest indoor climbing chamber when it opens on the island in 2018. It will also include retailers, food and beverage venues and a space for events with direct access to the Yas Mall.
The flight chamber is designed to mimic the experience of skydiving and will be 9.75m wide. For guests who want to have the thrill of falling from thousands of feet but are not that adventurous, CLYMB Abu Dhabi will be the ideal option.
Elsewhere at the venue, the indoor climbing wall will be 43 meters tall at its highest point, offering the chance to scale four walls of varying difficulty – beginner, intermediate and expert sections.

We are very happy to see Abu Dhabi adding a number of adventurous activities and options to their portfolio. Creating action-packed incentive programmes in the capital is becoming easier for us now more than ever. CLYMB Abu Dhabi will certainly be a welcome addition to all the fun that the capital has to offer.
When you’re in Dubai, it is essential for your itinerary to include a walk through the Old Dubai and a tour of its modern cityscape. This year, with the rise of the city’s newest landmark, you can have a glimpse of both worlds in one amazing, awe-inspiring place.
The Dubai Frame is a 150-metre-high, 93-metre-wide structure clad in gold and built to resemble a giant picture frame. The topmost part of the frame that connects two towers is a glass-enclosed bridge. This walkway puts you at a perfect spot where on one side, you can view the iconic landmarks of New Dubai like the Emirates Towers and the Burj Khalifa, and on the other side, you can see the older parts of the city, featuring Deira, Umm Hurair and Karama.
Designed by award-winning architect Fernando Donis, The Dubai Frame takes visitors on a journey through time. At the mezzanine level, visitors enter into an immersive experience of the museum representing the history of the city and showcasing Dubai’s transformation from a fishing village to a bustling metropolis.
Visitors are then directed to the second phase of the experience, at the Sky Deck level that represents Dubai today. Next up will be the Future Dubai Gallery, on the other side of the mezzanine. Creating a virtual metropolis, this immersive exhibit depicts what the city will become 50 years from now.
As visitors exit the elevator onto the mezzanine floor, they will pass through a vortex tunnel with special lights and sound effects. The idea is to create an illusion of time travel through a warp vortex and arriving into the city 50 years ahead.

The Dubai Frame is an excellent way to tell the incredible story of Dubai. It is one that effectively captures the humble beginnings of the city, its success story and its sharp vision of a future. As soon as it opened this month, we have immediately added it to our signature tour of Dubai, which also includes a trip to the new Etihad Museum, another fantastic display of the nation’s heritage.
