New Hotels to Check Out in 2018

New Hotels to Check Out in 2018

Gulf Dunes is always on the lookout for new hotels and venues that can turn MICE programmes into exceptional travel experiences. The United Arab Emirates and Oman make the hunt so easy through a steady stream of new options every year.

The year 2017 presented a series of hip luxury hotels such as Rixos Premium and Five The Palm in Dubai. There were also wellness sanctuaries like the The Retreat Palm Dubai, and scenic properties such as the mountain resort of Anantara Al Jabal Al Akhdar in Muscat.

In 2018, we are excited for another string of hotel openings in the pipeline.

Here are five new properties that we are watching for (in fact, one of them is already open):

The Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai | Dubai, UAE

Now open, The Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai adds a new jewel to the brand’s luxury hospitality collection. It is situated on the exclusive, man-made Jumeirah Bay, an island carved into the shape of a seahorse and adjoined by a 300-m bridge to the central Dubai coastline. That alone gives you a feel of how this sunny property will live up to its promise of creating a true “urban oasis”.

Bulgari Resort & Residences comprises 101 rooms and suites as well as 20 Bulgari villas. For meetings and events, a 360-sq-m ballroom, three breakout rooms and six F&B options are neatly mapped out.

It also offers an exclusive Beach Club with private beach and a unique mosaic-designed outdoor swimming pool. To add relish to every guest’s stay, the complex comprises a private marina featuring 50 boat berths and the world’s first Bulgari Yacht Club with peerless views of the sea.

We are expecting Bulgari Resort & Residences to be among the top contenders for our upscale incentive programmes. Stylish and spacious rooms, along with plenty of dining options, make for an extraordinary arrival experience. Plus, that private marina is an exciting bonus to everything Bulgari, don’t you think?

W Dubai The Palm | Dubai, UAE

Nestled at the sweet spot where the glistening Arabian Gulf’s coastlines meet the geometry of modern skyscrapers, W Dubai – The Palm is an idyllic oasis brightened up by a creative fusion of music, fashion and high-class design.

Featuring 350 rooms and suites, a ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests in theatre style, six breakout rooms and five F&B options, W Dubai the Palm is set to be the next big thing on the Palm Jumeirah.

The property also has some extremely unique spaces for all kinds of events. Whether it’s a funky party by the pool or a classy social gathering in a suite on the topmost floor with a private pool deck, choices are plenty at W Dubai The Palm.

Anything new on Palm Jumeirah is definitely on our hype list. You can never have too many hotels on such a wonderful island. We are particularly looking forward to this new W property simply because this hotel chain has always amazed us with its out-of-the-box offerings. Not only can this resort offer enough rooms to accommodate large groups, but with the promise of creativity in its spaces and facilities, it will add the flair and pizzazz we need for our programmes.

Rosemont Hotel and Residences | Dubai

Dubai is going to be the home of a giant terrarium, a hotel and residences development with its own artificial beach and an indoor rainforest.

This project will feature two towers and will be the first Hilton Curio Collection in the United Arab Emirates. With its 280 serviced apartments and 450 guestrooms, Rosemont Hotel and Residences adds to the brand’s growing global portfolio of remarkable upscale and luxury hotels.

Rosemont’s blueprint also includes a nightclub, an entertainment complex, bowling alley, skydive simulator, sky lobby, sky pool and a VIP lounge.

This stunning property is currently set to open its doors to guests in the last quarter of 2018.

Gulf Dunes Says …

We’ve got our eyes locked on this property as it develops. Just the thought of having a patch of rainforest right in the middle of a bustling city is exciting on its own. How much more if you’re going to grow this green jungle right inside a hotel? Rosemont Hotel and Residences is set to offer more than rooms and your usual ballroom—that’s all we can say, because, really, the possibilities are endless.

Fairmont Abu Dhabi Marina Hotel & Residences | Abu Dhabi

Fairmont Abu Dhabi Marina Hotel & Residences has got the world waiting for quite a while now, but sources say it is estimated to be completed in the third quarter of 2018.

Why is everyone waiting for it? It is touted to be Abu Dhabi’s answer to Dubai’s iconic Atlantis The Palm. This 39-storey Arabian-themed property will be the second Fairmont hotel in the nation’s capital, following the success of Fairmont Bab Al Bahr.

The new property will offer 249 serviced apartments and 563 rooms and suites, making it one of the larger properties in Abu Dhabi. It is also located right next to the Abu Dhabi Sailing and Yacht Club as well as the Abu Dhabi Marina Mall, where a Marina Walk will soon be created.

Fairmont Abu Dhabi Marina will feature nine restaurants and lounges, Fairmont Gold rooms along with the Fairmont Gold lounge situated atop the sky bridge between hotel and residences, state-of-the-art meeting spaces, and a 1,270-sq-m ballroom. Leisure offerings include swimming pools, beach, water sport center, kids club, fitness center and the signature Willow Stream Spa.

The property’s convenient location alone makes it a great choice for incentive groups. With its meeting facilities and F&B options, this Fairmont hotel can confidently accommodate conference groups as well.

Kempinski Hotel Muscat | Muscat, Oman

Nestled within the community of Al Mouj encompassing over six kilometers of stunning coastline, the Kempinski Hotel Muscat will be an unparalleled luxury destination in the capital of Oman.

Currently expected to open in the first quarter of 2018, Kempinski Muscat will be a gateway to an authentic Omani adventure where you can experience a mélange of local traditions and world-class European luxury. With 310 rooms and suites, state-of-the-art meeting facilities, world-class restaurants and bars, a fully equipped fitness center and an authentic spa experience, be prepared to immerse yourself in the finest things in life.

Gulf Dunes Says …

Anything that showcases the stunning views of Muscat’s coast deserves a space on our list of hotels in the Sultanate. Let’s face it, the natural wonders of Oman are just too beautiful to pass up on, hence the MICE industry would certainly flourish with more hotel rooms and MICE spaces rising in the country.
